Sit down to a burger at any of these spectacular locations throughout Savannah. While most locations are downtown, some are in midtown and others are on the south side. Savannah’s Historic District is known for having some of the highest quality restaurants in the area, but we couldn’t help but extend it to the entire town. No matter where you go, you’re sure to have a great meal when you choose from a compilation presented by The Savannah Insider.

Crystal Beer Parlor
4.6 ★
If you’re already on the most beautiful street in Savannah, then you won’t have to look very far to find Crystal Beer Parlor. Nestled comfortably into a small section of Jones Street, Crystal Beer Parlor is a favorite for locals and visitors from all over. Along with a wide selection of specialty burgers (that you can request a gluten free bun for) including a garden burger, you just HAVE to try the pulled pork nachos for a real treat. Find this locally loved legend Tuesday – Saturday from 11 am – 9 pm and sit down to one of the most relaxing and fulfilling meals you will take on in Savannah’s Historic District.

Green Truck Pub
4.7 ★
For the dietary restriction filled group, Green Truck Pub deserves yet another mention on The Savannah Insider. You might get used to seeing them pop up on various food based posts we make because Savannah LOVES Green Truck Pub. This is one spot in Savannah where you can get your burgers and buns made the way you like them. Full on beef patties sit comfortably with veggie burgers and gluten free bread is available on request. Consider all of the possibilities within this one restaurant and head over to Habersham and see what their house made ketchup is like along with everything else. They are open every day except Sunday from 11:30 am – 10 pm so don’t skip the trip to Green Truck Pub.

B&D Burgers
4.2 ★
For almost twenty years, B&D Burgers has been part of Savannah’s restaurant scene, now with three locations to pick from throughout this fine town. Take a pick from Congress, Broughton, or Abercorn St and come in for one of the largest burger menus that you will find in Savannah. Any of the three locations keeps more selections than the average burger joint so try no to get too lost in the choices. Build your own burger from the ground (beef) up or try out some Fried Green Tomato sliders among many other varieties. If you happen to be able to come into any of these three storefronts around 4 pm, you will be thrilled to start happy hour with them. Check their websites for hours as each restaurant varies for closing time, but they all open at 11 am every day and remain open until at least 9 pm every evening.

Sly’s Sliders & Fries
4.7 ★
Look for the yellow awning on Abercorn St in the Historic District and you will know that you’ve found Sly’s Sliders & Fries, the place to be for award winning sliders and hand cut fries. Since their initial opening back in 2014, Sly’s Sliders & Fries has been a frequent stop for students, locals, and tourists. People can’t seem to get enough of Sly’s menu choices like The Boardwalk or the Buddha Burger which is vegetarian friendly. Closed on Wednesdays, you can plan your visit to Sly’s any other day from 11 am – 9 pm. Try out the entire menu if you ever get the chance, these sliders are more than just mini beef patties. From jerk chicken to grilled salmon, Sly’s Sliders & Fries is a new take on the classics and you’re going to love every bite.

Lizzy’s Burger Bar & Grill
4.2 ★
This two story restaurant and bar sits right on the east end of River Street, providing a great riverside view along with plenty of handcrafted burgers. Order up a milkshake with anything on their menu and get ready to relax and unwind in what was once a trade warehouse back in the 1800s. Here in Savannah’s Historic District, one of our favorite ways to celebrate a historic building is by finding creative ways to use it. Lizzy’s Burger Bar & Grill has become a part of Savannah’s living history. From 11 am until at least 10 pm every night, Lizzy’s Burger Bar & Grill is waiting for you just a short walk down River Street.

Ben’s Neighborhood Grill & Tap
4.6 ★
Known for being the only pub in Midtown Savannah, Ben’s Neighborhood Grill & Tap is a quick drive outside of downtown on Hodgson Memorial. Relaxing ambiance is paired with locally sourced ingredients and 100% grass fed beef at Ben’s, making this a cozy spot to relax and sip some beers with your burger. For over fifty years, Ben’s Neighborhood Grill & Tap has been a part of Savannah’s scenery with no intention of stopping anytime soon. Order up some draft beer with your burger and try out something new. Their bar setup is notorious for featuring beers that you would not easily find within at least a fifty mile radius. You can visit Ben’s Neighborhood Grill & Tap from Monday through Saturday 11 am – at least 9 pm.

The Ordinary Pub
4.5 ★
Though there are only two burgers on the dinner menu for The Ordinary Pub, we had to make mention of this fine establishment. Located on Broughton St, The Ordinary Pub is easily spotted by the large clock instead of a sign poking out the side of the building. Sit down in this calm environment and ask about the Savannah Burger for a pimento cheese topped patty, a local specialty. If you’re in the mood for something with a little extra flavor, the Bacon Pesto Burger comes with mozzarella and a fried green tomato among other ingredients. Make your dinner feel more than ordinary with a visit to The Ordinary Pub on the weekends from 5 pm – 11 pm or during the week (closed on Tuesday) from 10 am – 11 pm.

Betty Bomber’s
4.5 ★
Savannah is the kind of place that is known for historic preservation, people visit this area to get a taste of the past and Betty Bomber’s encompasses a retro feel in a big way. From the old timey radio playing to the nostalgic signs from times passed all over the walls and the classic root beer floats, stepping into this restaurant feels more like a time capsule than any of our museums. Walk up to the counter and order a big burger knowing that you are getting your money’s worth at Betty Bomber’s. Find them inside of the American Legion on Bull St from 11 am – 9 pm any day of the week except for Sunday. Walk into the Legion first to grab some of Savannah’s cheapest drinks before trying out all that Betty Bomber’s has to offer.

The Public Kitchen & Bar
4.5 ★
In the most elegant way, The Public Kitchen & Bar is a warm and inviting eatery that serves up burgers and other American style dishes with an extra touch of class. Find their signature Southern Burger topped with pimento cheese and bacon jam and pair it with any of the appetizers listed. Avocado hummus and fried sweet plantains only make the experience all the better. When you’re wanting more than fries with a burger that is made with top tier ingredients, The Public Kitchen & Bar is waiting for your group on Liberty St every day of the week from 5 – 10 pm for dinner.

Houlihan’s
4.2 ★
While Houlihan’s is not a burger specific restaurant, they have a burger on each of their lunch/dinner menus that sound too delicious to not try out. For lunch, grab the classic Houlihan’s Burger when you want just a straight up good tasting burger without all the frills, unless you want to add on. Houlihan’s is located right outside of the Historic District on Abercorn, just far enough to get a break from the city without making a long trek to do so. At dinnertime, nothing beats the Kansas City Burger topped with brown sugar bacon, and onion straws. During the week, come into Houlihan’s from 11:30 am – 9 pm or stop by Friday – Sunday from 11 am – 10 pm. Regardless of what meal you choose to have at Houlihan’s, you will leave feeling satisfied. Try out the fried mushrooms to cap the meal off, they are bigger than the average stuffed mushrooms and are the perfect shareable appetizer before chowing down on the burger or any other menu items.
