Tailgate Sports Bar & Grill
4.3 ★
Finger foods are a staple part of what makes bar food so appealing, especially after a few drinks and Tailgate Sports Bar & Grill keeps a great selection of “kickin chicken” wings among a full menu. Take on a plate of wings covered in your favorite sauces or pick from dry rub choices like six pepper or garlic. Nothing goes better with the wings at Tailgate like the *Tailgate A1 burger which comes with swiss and American cheese on Texas toast. Load your plate up with some mango habanero wings and check out the rest of their appetizers. So many variations of sit down food turned finger food will have you ordering a little bit of everything for the full experience. Every day, visit Tailgate Sports Bar & Grill on Abercorn and have some lunch or dinner with them from 12:30 pm – 12 am.
A Town Wings
4.2 ★
Growing steadily from roots planted in Atlanta, A Town Wings started out as one little shop in Atl. Now you can find their locations throughout much of Georgia. Fresh cooked wings and a menu that includes a Philly cheesesteak are what A Town Wings takes pride in and both of the Savannah locations are ready to take your order. Don’t let the wait discourage you from placing an order, perfectly cooked wings take a bit longer when they are made fresh for each customer. Try out the honey garlic pepper flavor or the teriyaki lemon and see what makes A Town Wings so special even to those who aren’t living in Atlanta. Eventually, the owner wants to take this small restaurant to the next level with a full national franchise and there’s no doubt in our minds that we will accomplish exactly that. From Waters St to Ogeechee Rd, A Town Wings you can try out A Town Wings between the hours of 11 am – 9 pm every day.
Kool Vibes Pizza & Wings
4.1 ★
Top rated throughout Savannah and known for their speedy delivery and fair prices, Kool Vibes Pizza & Wings is where you can find “world class” wings in the area without breaking the bank. Make the tough choice of figuring out how many wings to order from 5-100 and don’t spend too much to feed the entire family. There is even (with an upcharge) the choice to make your order only drums or flats. At this restaurant in particular, they want you to be able to make the most of this meal. You will want to take an extra moment to peruse the menu though, the folks at Kool Vibes Pizza & Wings are offering much more than what their name suggests. Jamaican food, super salads, and of course specialty pizzas are only the beginning of what they have to serve at Kool Vibes Pizza & Wings. Monday through Saturday, Kool Vibes is there for you from 11 am – 8:30 pm and from 12 – 6 pm on Sundays so hurry up and make some lunch or dinner plans to hang out at Kool Vibes Pizza & Wings. Don’t worry, the “Kool” vibes don’t cost extra.
It’s Just Wings
4.2 ★
Sometimes you want just wings and nothing more than a side of fries or celery to go with them. From 11 am – 10:45 pm every day of the week, It’s Just Wings is out to help you find your new favorite sauce flavor. At the time of publication, their featured wing sauce is apple barbecue, maybe you will be lucky enough to get a taste of it when you come in. When you have lunch or dinner at It’s Just Wings, there’s no need for a fork or knife. Enjoy the order of curly fries with your plate and don’t skip out on the extra order of napkins. You are going to need them at It’s Just Wings.
Savannah Taphouse
4.2 ★
Award winning sandwiches, made from scratch food, and an upscale setting are three reasons (outside of the awesome chicken wings) that Savannah Taphouse should be next up on your list of restaurant stops in this area. Whether you’re picking sauces like teriyaki or a dry rub like Old Bar, Savannah Taphouse is known for their top notch service along with food that will have you wanting to come back for more. Wet Willie’s
4.4 ★
Just ask any local and they will tell you a story about Wet Willie’s and how they have a cup or two stashed away from a great party at any point in the last twenty years. Known for their iconic frozen drinks, Wet Willie’s is also one of those hidden gem late night food spots that keeps everyone happy at the end of a party. After taking on something like the “Call-A-Cab” slushed drink, bar food is an absolute MUST and Wet Willie’s has two locations that stay open until 1 am during the week and 2 am on the weekends. From City Market to River Street, you’ll see plenty of guests and locals walking with one of their unique hard plastic cups. Once you’re good and hungry, ask for their food menu and really dive into the wings. Twice baked, herb marinated chicken wings sit among choices like mozzarella bites. Bar food takes on a whole new image when you order a bowl of shrimp and grits, a staple meal here in Georgia. Everyone who likes to drink at Wet Willie’s is bound to have a favorite flavor so don’t hesitate to ask your tour guide about theirs if you’re riding on the party bike sometime.
Cotton & Rye
4.7 ★
Though Cotton & Rye didn’t initially feature wings on their menu, funny circumstances led them to eventually adding this award winning recipe to their selection. Back in 2018, Cotton & Rye’s infamous wings were known to be THE superbowl snack of the year and everyone seemed to want a piece of what Cotton & Rye was tossing their chicken in. After being invited to a wing cook off in 2016 that Cotton & Rye won without question, the restaurant went on to continue taking titles with various competitions. Now, the wings remain a staple part of their large menu and we are all thrilled about that. Make the choice from any of four out of this world flavors and see why Cotton & Rye takes the chicken wing game to an entirely new level. Closed on Sunday and Monday, you can find the popular restaurant on Habersham St from 5 – 10 pm.
The Rail Pub
4.5 ★
Known for being one of Savannah’s most popular dive bars, The Rail Pub is one of those places that makes you feel like you’re stepping into a best friend’s party. Even though their menu is not a large one, we had to make mention of their Free Fried Chicken Fridays. You can thank us for the inside info later. Every Friday, you can visit The Rail Pub on Congress St and throw back some beers while ordering plate after plate of free chicken wings. From 1 am – 3 pm on Fridays, The Rail Pub has plenty going on along with the great free food. Enjoy the aesthetic of an old building from the 1890s and feel a vibe that can only be brought on by Savannah’s Historic District. Also, if you ever needed to know exactly how many days remain until we get to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, The Rail Pub website keeps a handy little counter at the bottom of their website’s home page.
The 5 Spot
4.4 ★
Midtown is not far from the Historic District, only about a ten minute drive and that is if there is a hefty amount of traffic. Habersham Village, a fun little plaza located in the city but away from the packed nature of downtown, is home to The 5 Spot and we sure are happy about that. Along with the Sandfly location on Skidaway Rd, you won’t have to travel into the downtown area to enjoy great wings. Offered as an appetizer but more than filling enough to use as a meal, the wings at 5 Spot might make you forget that the rest of the menu even exists. We wouldn’t suggest doing that though, the Cuban sandwich looks pretty good. Both locations offer the same kick butt menu from at least 11 am – 9 pm every day, with an extra brunch menu on Saturday and Sunday. Stop by sometime when you want to venture out of the downtown area and try out The 5 Spot in Sandfly or Midtown.
Bowtie Barbecue Co
4.1 ★
Smoked barbecue is an essential part of southern style cooking and Bowtie Barbecue Co has you covered in that realm. Find this fun restaurant on Waters ave and find out how big the word “jumbo” can mean when Bowtie Barbecue Co is involved in the preparation process. Make your meal a combo and add on something like salmon, filling up is easy at this local restaurant. If you enjoy the meal enough, don’t hesitate to book their food truck for your next big event. Even when made mobile, the food cooked up by these folks is always made to impress. Bowtie Barbecue Co is happy to feed the masses from 11 am – 9 pm every day so don’t skip this spot if you want some good wings.
520 Wings
4.1 ★
Locally owned and operated, 520 Wings is one of those restaurants that is known from Savannah all the way to their second location in the neighboring city of Hinesville. When you decide to sit down for a plate at 520 Wings, know that a portion of your money might end up getting donated to a number of local charities from the Boys and Girls Club to scholarships for Savannah based high school seniors. Try out any of their 15 wing flavors and don’t skip out on the honey mustard, we hear theirs is particularly satisfying. Eventually, the owner of 520 Wings wants to turn the business into a franchise so visiting them now means you will get to say you knew them way back when. Find the Savannah location nestled into Bull St and come by from 11 am – 3 am every day except Sunday when their hours are 12 – 6:30 pm.
